“Discovering A Way To A Better Life” By Julio Mattos

Time management is basically about being focused. The Pareto Principle also known as the ‘80:20 Rule’ states that 80% of efforts that are not time managed or unfocused generates only 20% of the desired output. However,  80% of the desired output can be generated using only 20% of a well time managed effort. Although  the ratio ‘80:20′ is only arbitrary, it is used to put emphasis on how much is lost or how much can be gained with time management.

Some people view time management as a list of rules that involves scheduling of appointments, goal settings, thorough planning, creating things to do lists and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

But there is more skills involved in time management than the core basics. Skills such as decision making, inherent abilities such as emotional intelligence and critical thinking are also essential to your personal growth.

Personal time management involves everything you do. No matter how big and no matter how small, everything counts. Each new knowledge you acquire, each new advice you consider, each new skill you develop should be taken into consideration.

Having a balanced life-style should be the key result in having personal time management. This is the main aspect that many practitioners of personal time management fail to grasp.

Time management is about getting results, not about being busy.

The six areas that personal time management seeks to improve in anyone’s life are physical, intellectual, social, career, emotional and spiritual.

The physical aspect involves having a healthy body, less stress and fatigue.

The intellectual aspect involves learning and other mental growth activities.

The social aspect involves developing personal or intimate relations and being an active contributor to society.

The career aspect involves school and work.

The emotional aspect involves appropriate feelings and desires and manifesting them.

The spiritual aspect involves a personal quest for meaning.

Thoroughly planning and having a set of things to do list for each of the key areas may not be very practical, but determining which area in your life is not being giving enough attention is part of time management. Each area creates the whole you, if you are ignoring one area then you are ignoring an important part of yourself.

Personal time management should not be so daunting a task. It is a very sensible and reasonable approach in solving problems big or small.

A great way of learning time management and improving your personal life is to follow several basic activities.

One of them is to review your goals whether it be immediate or long-term goals often.

A way to do this is to keep a list that is always accessible to you.

Always determine which task is necessary or not necessary in achieving your goals and which activities are helping you maintain a balanced life style.

Each and everyone of us has a peek time and a time when we slow down, these are our natural cycles. We should be able to tell when to do the difficult tasks when we are the sharpest.

Learning to say “No”. You actually see this advice often. Heed it even if it involves saying the word to family or friends.

Pat yourself at the back or just reward yourself in any manner for an effective time management result.

Try and get the cooperation from people around you who are actually benefiting from your efforts of time management.

Don’t procrastinate. Attend to necessary things immediately.

Have a positive attitude and set yourself up for success. But be realistic in your approach in achieving your goals.

Have a record or journal of all your activities. This will help you get things in their proper perspective.

These are the few steps you initially take in becoming a well rounded individual.

As the say personal time management is the art and science of building a better life.

From the moment you integrate into your life time management skills, you have opened several options that can provide a broad spectrum of solutions to your personal growth. It also creates more doors for opportunities to knock on.

5 Easy Ways To Get Your Creative Juices Flowing and Going!

Writing an article doesn’t just mean putting down thoughts into words then typing and writing it. You have to capture the interest of your readers and get them to keep on reading. To send your message across you have to get the attention of the reader and have a firm grasp of their interest and pique their curiosity. The main ingredient in baking up an article is a large dose of creativity. While creativity may come natural to many people, some just gets into a block or something to that effect that can drive someone crazy. Many writers have literally torn their hair out when they get writers block and just can’t seem to get their creative juices flowing. Putting words into images in the readers mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Similes and metaphors help a lot, but the way an article gets entwined word for word, sentence by sentence then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article. So just what do you have to do when nothing comes to mind? There is no surefire ways to get the perfect ideas but there are easy ways to get your creative juices flowing. No one can guarantee you of having the perfect mindset but many methods may aid you in achieving that state of mind. Here are five easy ways for that.

1) Keep a diary or a journal with you always. Ideas can be triggered by anything you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. Write all of them into a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard, someone’s ideas could be used to develop your own ideas and this is not stealing. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it’s the development of the idea that makes it unique.

2) Relax and take time to sort things out. A jumbled mind cannot create any space for new ideas. Everyone must have a clear mind if one wishes to have their creativity in full speed. Get rid of all obstacles that can be a hindrance to your creativity. If you are bothered by something, you cannot force your mind to stay focused. Try to relax every time that you can and think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences are what shape your mindset and your opinions which could be reflected on your writings. Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Discover what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas, with this you can grow creatively.

3) Create a working place that can inspire your creativeness. Your working place can be quite a hindrance if it doesn’t make you feel happy or relaxed. Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind and a messed up workplace that causes distraction won’t be conducive in firing up your creative flow. Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed. You may put up pictures, or scents, objects that inspire, or anything that can get your creativeness cranking. A clean and well organized workplace also rids of distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a good working place, you can work in peace and never notice the time pass by.

4) Set the mood. Setting the mood requires you to just go with the moment or to induce your self to feeling what makes your mind works best. Finding out what makes you tick could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. Set the pace and tempo for your mood and everything else will follow. There are many ways to set the mood. Some writers have been known to use alcohol, a little sip of wine to stir up the imagination. Some would like some mood music while others let the lighting of the environment create the mood.

5) Go on a getaway and just do something unlike crazy. Letting yourself go and have fun produces adrenaline that can make your imagination go wild. Take an adventure or a solemn hike. Whatever it is that is unusual from your daily routine can take the rut out of your schedule. In no time at all, your creativeness will make use of that experience and get your imagination to go on overdrive.

All You Need To Know About Blog Hosts
Apart from the chat rooms, instant messengers and electronic mails created for communication and dialogue beyond turf are the emerging innovations that help man build opportunities for interaction.  The need for a personalized and human face aspect of building online communities is slowly changing the technological landscape of the Internet.
Blogs / “weblogs” or blogging are the newest gift of Internet technology to people all over the world. These are updated posts, crop up entries or personalized life snippets, of mundane or bizarre in nature. For most, a “blog” is a personal, unedited, and authentic journal meant to be shared in an online community. Blog site is a place where bloggers can publish anything; his thoughts, feelings, photos, special events, experiences, comments on issues and so on. It is more of an online diary with videos, links, documents, newsletters and opinions on just about any topics you are interested.
Blogs are made to welcome the insights and opinions of all and therefore, should not be written to sound intimidating and too formal. This kind of blog is a sure way to put off the readers. In the basics of blogging, conversational tone would be more appropriate to reach the desired audience.
Blogging is all about individuals reaching out to other individuals. Having a blog has its own set of advantages:

?          Freedom of Expression. If you want people to hear you out and give their own opinion, this is the best way to create a line of communication;
?          Networking is at its best. Having a blog is a good platform for exchanging genuine ideas from consumers to you as marketer of a certain product. Sound opinion and point of view is better than just showing the price quote;
?          Excellent advertising platform. Blogging is a new way to advertise products, a refreshing change from the traditional advertising outlets and it is cost-effective.
?          Gauging public opinion on products and services. The key is nice and catchy titles with new ideas presented in your content. This is an assurance of quick and repeated responses from your readers.  Blogs is an excellent spot for the exchange of ideas between the seller and the consumer. Good for measuring public opinion regarding services and products, even political and business matters alike.
?          Useful tool for internal communication. This will help your company to build a knowledge-based community of employees. Also good for harnessing employee relations and identifying human resource issues in advance.
?          Other benefits like search engine optimization (SEO) will help your blogs to be seen often by as many people as you wish. This is very good exposure for your products and services.
Many blog hosting services are available on the Internet. But the basic question is which one of the services will be the best to start off your business blog program? Business people are usually clueless to recent technological innovations which would help them maximize their marketing potentials. For these beginners, it is best to study first the services offered by blog hosts. An ineffective business blogging program may damage marketing opportunities instead of enriching them.
A company may decide to do the following depending on its capacity and needs: 1) Host their own blog service, 2) Pay someone else to host the service, or 3) Setup a “blog aggregator page” and ask the employees to select their blog hosting services individually. There are paid and free services available for individuals.
For business blogs, they are required to have the latest blogging features; if not, this will prevent them from maximizing their marketing, public relations and SEO potentials.
Keep in mind that blogs should have the following basic essentials:
COMMENTS.  Welcoming comments provide opportunity for dialogue. In business blogs, they are a good customer feedback mechanism. This helps develop better customer relations based from loyalty and trust. Blogging is an innovative way to converse with your customers.
TRACKBACK. This helps in maximizing company and product exposure. Through this service, consumers can get back to you for more posts and updates without the difficulty of locating you. If your blog is popular in a specific online community chances are links going back to your blog site are everywhere online, other blog sites or even websites.
CATEGORIES AND TAGS. These both help in classifying blog searches for ease of navigation and on site search. Categories act as libraries because it classifies posts by subject matter such as business, distance learning, e-commerce, online auctions, etc. Tags, help in the classification, especially in the blog search engine Technorati. Possible customers and new clients locate blogs about certain topics of interest by just clicking the tags.
RSS FEED. Really Simple Syndication is the feed from your blog that is sent out over the internet, and collected through the various newsreaders and aggregators.
If your company is to establish a business blogging program, considerable options should be made available by the hosting companies shortlisted for the services. Free blog hosting services are popular but they are much appropriate for individual online journals. Paid blog hosting services offer unlimited packages best for your company’s needs. You may want to suggest checking out some blogs that use the host first, read and examine their layout and design. Another important thing to consider is a reliable technical support the host has.
After, choosing the blog host, a team should be ready to plan the design and structure of the blog: The team should:
?          create a style that meets the needs of the audience;
?          establish an open, credible tone;
?          schedule weekly updating of blog - ideally, a few times a week;
?          include weblinks of other website and blogs;
?          blog post should be in the “first person;”
?          focus on the business blog objective; and,
?          maintain an honest, engaging conversational quality.
Remember, whatever the look, style and content found on your blog is a reflection of you and your company.
Best regards,

Mr. Julio

What’s the $86,400 question?

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Value the Present
Author Unknown

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each
morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to
day. Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you
failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!!!! Each
of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every
night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have
failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no
balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new
account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day.
If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against the
“tomorrow”. You must live in the present on today’s
deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in
health, happiness, and success!

The clock is running. Make the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed
a grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave
birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly
newspaper. .

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are
waiting to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed
the train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just
avoided an accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who
won a silver medal in the Olympics

Ending.

Best regards,

Julio

P.s. Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more
because you shared it with someone special, special enough
to spend your time. And remember that time waits for no one.

Debt Repayment Planning…

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Hello Debt Freedom Fighter,

This will be short and very sweet. (Well not so sweet until you repay your debts.)

I believe that if you get started planning for your Debt Repayment Plan that it will surely benefit you greatly.

For sometime we have heard time and time again everywhere that American’s, are carrying debt load on their credit cards at the minimum of $6,500 or more and some maybe less.

But learning how to plan and giving yourself a set repayment time frame, (example 12 months or 24 months.) then you will be half way there and if you take the proper actionable steps behind this meaning then you will surely come out on top.

Which means being debt free.

We will be having a bunch of post’s going forward on this particular subject, since the author finds this to be very important of subject.

But really the most important things are always important and 2 of them I will display here:

Money Management and Time Management

These 2 are very important for your success because if you follow them and study them, then you can surely understand where you are at currently and where you will want to be at in the near or long term future.

Please feel free to leave a reply if you find that this is important or not.

Good luck with your planning and good luck with you becoming Debt Free again and also for becoming in control of your money and time.

 To your long term success,

Julio

Happy Valentine’s Day….

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Happy Valentines Day,

I hope you all had a very nice Valentines day.

Most people hate this day and some people love this day, but for me I love everyday.

Because I have a lot to be thankful for and so by saying that this is another day for loving you signicant other, but do not let this one day be the day that you show that you love them.

Show them that you love them each and everyday and even if they feel that you do not need to everyday, do things for them and work together doing fun relationship types of things.

Wake up each day and love yourself and love your family and friends, even if you feel they can be annoying at times or irritating, or simply just want to have an argument with you over nothing, they are still important to you and you must learn to control your emotions and share with them a little bit of peace.

Again Happy Valentines Day to you and yours.

All the best,

Julio

Happy New Year…How are your Plans coming?

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Hello All,

Wow it has been an incredible month, I hope you have been keeping focused on your goals and resolutions which we really aren’t calling resolutions, more we are  calling self-development right?

Well it’s that time of year where everyone who has set plans or goals or resolutions or what we call them self-development challenges, they literally fall off track.

If you have been going to the gym and you have been telling yourself, ”Yes I am going to loose this 10 pounds that I have set out to loose”, but you never do.

Why is that you may ask yourself?

Well I have found it to be, well…. come on get on it with it already….What is it?…is this what you really would like to know?

Yes, Julio Please tell us what it is you have to say…hmm…ok I, I suppose I will say it…It’s called staying focused and staying motivated and being disciplined.

I have found that planning is really nothing without you taking the needed time and the much need action to simply take action.

Wow I am very sure you feel the same way about this right?

Well I can personally tell you, I have struggled through this myself and will no longer fall victim to Mr. Excuses and Ms. Procrastination.

I can no longer tolerate their presence in my life because they have become very tiresome and have helped me fail at more things then I can care to admit.

What Julio? You mean to tell me you have failed even though you seem like you are very energetic and very well disciplined and very focused on achieving your goals…

Well I suppose I will be the first to admit, we all have our days and yes I am that type of person who loves taking action and some will say taking all of those risks…but as most people know about me I would care to say, that I am willing to try at least at something, then to simply be the person who regrets that he has never tried before.

This post has generally posted to see how your plans are coming along and if you are keeping up with your commitments.

I will state here that I am staying true to my plans and I will be the first to publicly put it out there, I have officially lost lost about 14 pounds.

Yes I said 14 pounds, how do you ask?

Well I told myself I could do it and I even put it out to a few of my friends that I would do this as well, so by making it a challenge it has helped in the result of loosing this weight.

But wait a minute Julio, you a very energetic and athletic guy and that’s how your able to do this.

Yes this is some what true, but not exactly 100% accurate.

You see recently I found out that I had 21% body fat and my weight November 27, 2006 I was 188 pounds and I was thinking that it was about that time to get back into good health.

So I had a few conversations with a few friends and they told me that I wasn’t fat and I was overreacting, but a man know’s when he has a gut and when he doesn’t and I can tell you it wasn’t really big but when I am able to grab a lot of my belly, it’s really not good.

But I have stayed true to myself and to my goals and told myself and a couple friends that I would loose at least 10-15 pounds of bot fat and I have in  the last 3 months.

It’s been mostly by cutting back on the junk food that I have been eating and cutting back on the snacks that I have been eating, plus it has helped to spend about 5 minutes stretching and the remainder of the time maybe sometime 30 minutes or so working on simply getting cut rather then just trying to bulk up on muscle and this has been only a test.

You see I plan to win back my six pack, even I am on my way their now because my training plan I am working with and following daily.

But that’s just one critical element I am working on this year and I have many others.

What plans do you have so far this year that you have or have not started?

That you are willing to get started on today spending 5-15 minutes on and that you will build into good habits.

I believe that’s enought for today.

Until next time, please have a wonderful and peaceful day.

Also let’s make this New Year the Best ever year we possibly can.

All the best,

Julio Mattos
